How to use in Excel

  1. Download and install the Code 39 Font.
  2. Reboot to refresh the font cache, or restart Excel.
  3. In a separate cell, use a formula to enclose your data with start/stop character as asterisks or parentheses. Use parentheses to keep the asterisks from appearing in the text interpretation. For example, if your data is in cell A2, the formula in cell B2 would be = "*" & A2 & "*" or = "(" & A2 & ")"
  4. Select the cell containing the formatted data and select the barcode font. Adjust the font size and formatting as needed for your barcodes. The size of 12 or 16 points is recommended.
  5. You can copy and paste this formula down to other rows containing data to be encoded.
